High School graduation time is nearing! Any seniors need some pictures?!

This is my handsome/very studly nephew Kolton. He is such a talented (is in the choir and has an amazing voice, plays in the drumline, plays guitar), good kid and I can't even believe he's graduating from High School already! He's the oldest of 14 grandkids in my family and he's such a good example to all the younger ones. Congrats Kolton!

that we were all frozen to death during this shoot! It was a bitter cold day in Blanding and I wondered all day if it would warm up enough for this shoot. Luckily Tiff and family braved the cold and we tried to think warm thoughts. This was the first of 4 shoots I did while down in Blanding last week.

This picture of the 2 boys together just makes me smile! It seriously made my day when I was up late editing and came across it!

Tiff is one of my very best friends from highschool/middle school/elementary school. And how cute is her little family?? Seriously Tiff, cutest little boys!

This handsome little guy is my friend Tyrel's baby boy. I couldn't even believe the hair on his head! So darling! He was such a good baby and just layed there and slept while I snapped away at his cuteness!

And this is beautiful big sis Havyn. Seriously, like one of the prettiest little girls I know. I don't just mean like little girl cute, like model beautiful! Look at her!

And little cutie Krew! He had way too many things to check out and was way too busy to pose for a picture, but I was able to catch him a couple times before he was off again!

The beautiful bride in this story happens to be my cousin's sister in law. The wedding was beautiful. Pretty much every last little detail of the luncheon was handmade/homemade by family, including the awesome dessert buffet. And the awesome vintage car they rode off in? That belonged to Carl, a guy the bride's mom randomly ran into at a bank and asked if he could pretty please be their limo for the afternoon! Awesome!

Day 2

Day 2 of the workshop was much more successfull as far as the weather cooperating for the shoots. We shot a soon to be bride and groom who looked amazing and once again, were such a troopers being drug all over and told what to do by 15 different people all snapping pictures of them like paparazzi.

After we wrapped up the shoots we headed back to the party house for more enlightenment from Wendy and Tyler. The weekend was a total success and such a blast!

Blue Lily rocked my world

Two full days with Wendy and Tyler (aka Blue Lily Photography) and my brain literally wanted to explode (but in a good way!). The first day was spent sitting around a kitchen table at the party house, lap tops open and pens taking notes as fast as they could. Then that evening, we all crossed our fingers and headed up the canyon praying for the clouds to take their rain elsewhere. We weren't so lucky. It poured and poured! We made our way part way back down the canyon and found an old abandoned concrete building. We were determined to have the photo shoot! The 2 families were such troopers! My husband would have been outta there!

After the shoot we decided to get our grub on at Cafe Rio. I think there were 11 people that attended the workshop and only 3 of us were Utahns! The others all flew in from all over the U.S. It's no secret that I'm retarded when it comes to driving in Salt Lake county, so it's a good thing the others weren't following me when I somehow ended up clear over in the foothills of Draper when I was supposed to be on 12300 South! Oops! I don't drive in Salt Lake county OK, it gets me flustered and lost pretty much every time! Anyway, I made it to Cafe Rio where my sweet pork salad was waiting for me, then headed home to recharge for day 2 of the workshop! To be continued.....

Apparently this time of year is down time for photographers. I had a busy few weeks before Christmas and haven't done anything since. Luckily, baby Dawson ended my slump! I did his pictures today, he's just 2 weeks old. Of course his beautiful mama was already looking amazing, way too good to have just given birth 2 weeks ago! Anyway, I've been anxious to edit some pictures so I got some finished today and thought I'd post a few.

During Christmas break Les asked me to do some pictures of her family. Since it is such a busy time for everyone, of course the only time we both had free had to be at high noon, a photography lighting nightmare. The harsh lighting created some obstacles, but tried our best to find ways around them.

I think everyone was pretty sick of squinting by the end, but we got some good ones before the husbands all gave up and left their wives standing there.

While I was home for Thanksgiving I got to do a shoot with one of my favorite families ever. Tiff was one of my very best friends growing up and I love her family like my own. Remeber Ashley, the beautiful bride, from a couple weeks ago? Her wedding was a couple weeks ago and I'm finally getting these pictures posted from it. It was a bit nippy out, but other than that the weather was perfect. Ashley's sister Tiff is one of my very best childhood friends and I just love all the Actons so it was fun to see her family.

I'm sure the day flew by, so hopefully I was able to capture a few of the emotions you felt that day. Congrats again Ashley!

Cousins

Last week I traveled down to Blanding for a day to do some pictures for my cousin's family. My cousin Justin and his beautiful wife Steph and their super cute kids. Such a fun a energetic family. Those of you who know my cousin Justin know he never slows down and his kids are just the same. They were so fun and came up with some fun ideas for pictures. We did the pictures down at "the field" and it was a perfect spot.

This is beautiful Jessie. Seriously, how pretty is she? She is a bubbly 13 (I think) year old with a contagious smile. My husband's favorite story about her is last summer when we were out at the Colorado cabin and the kids were all in their swim suits playing in the water at the pond and Jessie comes marching up in her swim suit and thigh high rubber boots with a bucket full of crawdads! Such an Ivins, not afraid of anything! Not a lot of girls could pull off that look, but she totally did!

This is Dillon. A fun and funny guy. My friend's mom was his 2nd grade (maybe 1st, can't remember) teacher a couple years ago and told me he was constantly making her laugh.

And Whitney. Such a cutie. Fun and playful. Love those freckles!

And little Ladd. A little wild man who, I have a feeling, never slows down. The day I took these pictures, I saw him and Steph earlier that day and noticed Ladd had a rubber band around his jeans at the ankle on both legs. Then when they showed up for pictures later, he had his jeans tucked into his socks! I couldn't decide if he was a little OCD about something or perhaps trying to start a new fad? Either way, funny!

The funny thing about this picture is that Ladd was making similar faces to this in every picture, until I asked them to make funny faces, then every picture was complete straight face.

It was lots of fun! Thanks Steph! Hope you love them!

Last week I drove to Blanding to do pictures for my cousin's family, and while I was down there my cousin's sister in law also asked if I would come over and take some of her kids. So my one day trip turned out to be even more productive than I had anticipated. Meet the Andersons....

Apparently this little stinker had to be bribed to put on her dress and get her hair fixed for pictures. Nothing a few packs of pink bubble gum and promised time with her favorite uncle Justin couldn't solve.

Such fun and pretty little girls!

And I have a feeling this little guy gets plenty of love from his big sisters.

Beautiful bride

A couple weeks ago I got to take Ashley Acton's bridals. I'm not gonna lie, I was a little nervous. Bridals seem a little more important than pictures of my kids, so I really didn't want to screw them up. I think we got some really great pictures! It's hard to screw up pictures of a beautiful bride I guess, but I just wanted her to love them. Although I'm sure Heber never looks at my blog, I decided I'd wait to post them until after the wedding just in case. He can't see her in her dress before the wedding after all. They were married on Friday so I thought I'd post a few of my favorites. She looked beautiful, and down town Ogden had some great places for pictures.

My niece Camryn was up a couple weeks ago for her birthday and I got to spend the day with her. We went shopping, had her favorite lunch (panda express), and then came home and had a little photo shoot. When she was about 3 years old, and I still lived in Blanding, her and I were best friends. She hung out with me and my friends all the time. Now, we don't get to hang out near enough, so I was excited to spend her 10th birthday with her. She is such a cute girl. I love you Cam! Here are a few of the pictures we took. I was trying out a few new effects in Photoshop. Let me know what you think.

2 red haired little boys

A couple weeks ago I took some pictures of my friend Elyssa's 2 cute red haired little boys. I knew we wouldn't have a lot of time before the 2 of them gave up, so I just snapped as many as I could and I think we got some really cute shots.

This is Josh. He is an energetic little 4 year old. He is such a fun little boy and is good friends with my kids. He loves Scout and is so sweet to her.

Getting good pictures of him was easy. He was such a little poser and very cooperative (for about 20 mintutes :)

And this is Tyler. He's just as energetic as his big brother. This kid is a dare devil and will do anything. I don't think there's anything he's afraid of. Him and Maxon are good buddies, he's just 4 months younger than Maxon.

Thanks to Heather and her PLC, I have gotten a lot of practice at shooting babies recently and I love it! These are the 2 girls of the bunch, and were both so sweet. They are going to have to toughen up a little to hold their own against McCoy and Bryce in a couple years! This is baby Alayna, she was almost 2 months old when we took these.

And the caboose of the foursome, little Anastyn! She was just a week and half!

Nicole and Trent got married..

My cousin Nicole got married last weekend and asked me to do the pictures after the wedding. Talk about pressure! Her photographer couldn't be there that day so the bride and groom went to the temple the day before to do bride/groom pictures, so at least I didn't have to try to pull that off. I figured the other pictures are just big group pictures and there's nothing artistic to that so I could probably handle it. Still a little stressful though! The wedding was packed full! I think I heard 87 people were packed into the sealing room. Needless to say, it was a little chaotic trying to take pictures with everyone after! I did learn one thing that must drive wedding photographers crazy though, it is near impossible to have everyone looking at you in any given photo. Because there are usually like 5 other people with cameras standing behind and around you taking pictures, apparently no one knows which camera to look at and you end up with a bunch of pictures where only half the people are looking at you. Other than that minor problem, I think I got some decent pictures! Nicole looked beautiful as always. They both were on cloud 9 and just so happy!

My grandpa was able to seal them. His memory is slowly going, so he was very nervous about the whole thing. He did great and made it through it. He even managed to crack a joke as he walked into the sealing room, saying to Nicole, "I don't know if we're going to be able to seal you two with Keith (Nicole's dad) going around kissing everyone!"

They had their reception that night in my parents backyard. We were all a little nervous about the weather, but it turned out to be a beautiful day!

Nicole put her sister in charge of flowers and she did awesome! She went all out and put a lot of thought into each flower (and branch) she picked. Her and a bunch of Nicoles cousins and aunts were at my parents house the night before putting together center peices until about midnight. They looked amazing!

A couple weeks ago I got to go take some pictures of some more cute babies. My nephew McCoy was one of them! He is such a little cutie and after taking all these pictures I've decided he looks just like big brother Cohen.

How cute is he?! His big sister has super blond hair, and his big brother's is red, and he was born with brown! Diverse family!

When I took these pictures Heather also invited her friend Lawni over who has a little baby, Bryce, who I think is just a little older than McCoy. He was bright eyed until the very end!

Look at all that hair! Such cute little buddies! I'm sure it won't be long before they are raising havoc in the neighborhood.

While I was in Blanding last week I also got to go take some pictures of my cousin's, Shawn and Kathryn's, baby Adison. She is super cute and looks just like her big sis. She was so good through the whole thing until we got out the cowboy hat, then she wasn't having any of it! This first picture turned out to be one of my favorite pictures I've taken so far. I just love the tones, her cute little outfit and the sweetness of a sleeping baby.

They blessed her a few days later and here's her super cute blessing dress.

Apparently when I asked for volunteers to take pictures of, Kacey took me seriously. JK Kace, it was lots of fun, thanks for letting me take them! Sweet baby Aleyah!

This is my sweet little neice Aleyah when she was just 6 days old. She's such a sweetie. We only had one minor peeing incident. And luckily it was while Kera was holding her so her hands served as the diaper. My mom was there and thought we were mean for making her be naked. Mean because she was naked, and mean because years down the road she thinks Aleyah won't be real happy about naked pictures. I'm pretty sure she won't mind though. Look how dang cute she is!

A couple weeks ago I went down and took pictures of my sister Marilyn's family. I thought they turned out pretty good. I had to get really crafty on the one of just the boys. I cut out the rest of the family then patched the holes and tried to make the bricks and cement look natural. Can you tell? Thank goodness for Photoshop!
